Strategic Acquistions and Alliances

Leviton acquired PRISM Data Centre Solutions (DCS) Limited, a leading manufacturer of network enclosures. Established in 1996, UK based PRISM DCS provides an unrivalled, service focused offering including consultation, design, manufacture and installation of 19” cabinets, hot and cold aisle containment, security caging to communications network and data centre applications.

Leviton completed its acquisition of Berk-Tek, a leading U.S. manufacturer of fiber-optic and copper network cabling. The acquisition solidifies Leviton as a single-source manufacturer of end-to-end systems — including connectivity and cable — for customers around the world.

Leviton acquired Viscor, Canada's largest independent lighting manufacturer, which specializes in lighting for architectural, commercial, medical, institutional and industrial applications. This latest acquisition reiterates Leviton's commitment to strategically expand its lighting and controls product offering.  

Leviton has acquired Birchwood Lighting, a southern California-based designer and manufacturer of high-quality, specification grade light fixtures with expertise in linear lighting. With this acquisition, Leviton continues its expansion and strategic growth in the Lighting Business Unit and also expands the product offerings and solutions for both Leviton and Birchwood Lighting customers. While Leviton and Birchwood Lighting will immediately begin to build on each other's strengths and product offerings, the companies will continue to maintain their separate agent networks and distribution channels following the acquisition.

Leviton acquired ConTech Lighting, a leading, Chicago-based manufacturer of high-performance and sustainable lighting solutions and fixtures. Through this acquisition, Leviton continues its strategic growth in lighting and expands its product offerings and solutions with ConTech Lighting’s high-quality, innovative designs.

Leviton acquired Brand-Rex Ltd., a leading developer of cabling solutions for network infrastructure and high-performance industrial applications. Brand-Rex's proprietary cabling solutions and robust European market presence are a natural complement to Leviton Network Solutions' existing network infrastructure systems offerings and strength in the Americas.

Leviton acquired Intense Lighting, LLC, a leading solutions-based manufacturer of LED luminaires based in Anaheim, Calif., in May 2015. The acquisition enhances Leviton’s current product offerings with a wide variety of specification grade LED lighting solutions for the commercial, hospitality, supermarket, retail and residential markets.

Leviton acquired JCC Advanced Lighting, a United Kingdom-based leader in LED lighting suitable for a wide variety of residential and commercial applications, in October 2013. The acquisition established Leviton in the UK market and affords the company growth opportunities internationally.

In April 2013, Leviton formed a long-term strategic agreement with Berk-Tek, a Nexans company, to create the Berk-Tek Leviton Technologies alliance. The new alliance establishes the industry’s premier copper and fiber solution providing customers with a best-of-breed option for reliable and high-performance networks.

Through the acquisition of Home Automation, Inc. (now Leviton Security & Automation) in August 2012, Leviton enhanced its current automation offerings – for residential and commercial applications – by providing solutions that combine security, energy management and entertainment controls, in user-friendly applications.
